How we Produce Hastelloy C22 Round Bar
At each step of the process, we confirm that the C22 Round Bar meets the requirements of ASTM B574, as well as your additional requirements.
1. Verification of Raw Material
Ingots and billets are chemically and metallurgically verified and traced to the heat.
2. Hot Working
The material is forged or hot rolled to the desired diameter.
3. Solution Annealing
Bars are solution annealed, a process in which bars are heated to a specific temperature for a period of time and then rapidly cooled in order to improve the corrosion resistance of the material.
4. Finishing
Bars are straightened, peeled, turned and centerless ground to the required tolerances.
5. Inspection and Testing
Chemical and mechanical tests are conducted on the bars and ultrasonic tests, as well as dimensional tests are conducted.
6. Marking and Packing
Before shipping, each bar is marked with requirements such as grade and size, as well as chemical and mechanical requirements. The heat number is also provided, along with other pertinent information.
